Create Log Bucket

The first bucket we are going to create is a log bucket. Select the Create bucket button.

S3 - Create Bucket

On the First screen, provide a name and region. You can name it anything you want, but to help with organization I recommend the name to follow this format separated by dashes: [Heroku App Name]-[Bucket Type]-[Region]

  • The Heroku App Name is inifinite-lowlands-88888.
  • The type of bucket this is will be the database log, labeled db-log.
  • The Region is going to start in Oregon, so this is region us-west-2

Therefore, this bucket will be labeled: inifinite-lowlands-88888-db-log-us-west-2

Create 2nd Log Bucket

Repeat these steps to create a 2nd log bucket. Only this time, create it in a region on the other side of the US. I'm selecting Virginia, which is in east-1.
